We escaped Bris-vegas over the 2016/17 Christmas – New Year period and headed South to the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. What a feast for your eyes, the Peninsula is visually stunning and if you love the beach, there’s plenty to choose from.

My little fam-bam – Dazza and Ryley and a family friend’s kid photo bombed us 🙂

While we were away, I gifted myself a break from business to enjoy my family and recharge; it was bliss. Having said that, I did read a ‘business book’ and indulged in a little bit of planning for 2017. But at my leisure and only after I had spent time with the fam-bam.

The book I read is “The 1 Thing” by Gary Keller – OMG – I enjoyed it immensely and here’s why.

Think BIG. Act SMALL.

As a small business owner with big dreams, I am constantly feeling overwhelmed by the ‘to do’ list. I felt I never finished anything because I was working on too many projects; it’s like I was running on a treadmill and getting nowhere fast!

But these dreams are my “Think BIG” – that’s what keeps me inspired and driven – I have a picture of what I want to achieve. But to be successful, I must “Act SMALL”.

You see, for all the items on my ‘to do’ list, one and only one, can be a priority at a time. By focusing on many priorities, I wasn’t truly prioritising any of them.

What a revelation!

So I answered the question Gary asks in his book…

“What’s the ONE Thing you can do such that by doing it everything else will be easier or unnecessary?”

This is the “Act Small” part.

I grabbed my list and knew the ONE THING I needed to get sorted, so that everything else will be easier to run my Online Marketing Strategy biz, is to get my website completed.

Phew makes it seem so easy – it’s so clear to me now.

Let me ask you ““What’s the ONE Thing you can do such that by doing it everything else will be easier or unnecessary?”
